1. Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service govern your purchase and use of the AI Box appliance, software, licence, and related services. By placing an order, creating an account, or using AI Box, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use or purchase AI Box.
2. Product description
AI Box is a physical, local-first AI appliance designed for document indexing, search, question-and-answer, citations, and related document intelligence workflows. It is not a cloud service and does not guarantee that all features will work without internet access, especially during setup, model download, updates, or optional external integrations.
3. Orders and payment
Orders are placed through our authorised storefront. Prices are shown in United States Dollars unless otherwise stated. Shipping, taxes, duties, and optional upgrades are additional and calculated at checkout. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse orders for fraud, stock unavailability, or shipping restrictions.
4. Licence
Each AI Box base purchase includes a perpetual licence for up to 25 named users on the appliance you bought. The licence is issued after payment and must be activated on the device. You may not transfer, resell, or sublicense the licence except as expressly permitted. Additional seats or enterprise terms are available on request.
5. Delivery and risk
Delivery times are estimates and depend on destination, customs, and carrier schedules. Risk of loss passes to you upon delivery to the carrier. You are responsible for inspecting the shipment on arrival and reporting damage within 5 business days.
6. Returns and refunds
You may return the hardware within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the hardware price, provided the appliance is in resalable condition. Return shipping is your responsibility. Setup, onboarding, extended support, and already-delivered services are non-refundable. Refunds are processed after the returned unit is inspected.
7. Warranty
AI Box hardware is covered by a 12-month limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty does not cover physical damage, unauthorised modifications, misuse, or consumables. Our sole obligation is to repair or replace the defective unit at our discretion.
8. Acceptable use
You agree to use AI Box lawfully and in compliance with applicable data-protection, privacy, and intellectual-property laws. You may not use AI Box to process unlawful content, violate third-party rights, reverse-engineer the software, or attempt to bypass licensing or security controls.
9. AI outputs and limitations
AI-generated answers, summaries, extractions, and other outputs are produced automatically and may contain errors, omissions, or hallucinations. AI outputs are not legal, financial, medical, or professional advice. You must verify important information against the original source documents and your own judgement before acting on it.
10. Data and privacy
AI Box is designed for local-first processing. Documents, embeddings, and query activity are generally stored and processed on the appliance. However, internet access may be required for setup, updates, model downloads, or optional external integrations. Our handling of any information collected through the company website, storefront, or support channels is described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Support
Standard support is included for 12 months from delivery. Extended support may be purchased separately. Support is provided by phone, WhatsApp, and email during the published business hours for your region. We aim to respond within 1 business day.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of AI Box is limited to the amount you paid for the product or service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses arising from your reliance on AI outputs.
13. Changes to terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will be posted on this page with the last-updated date. Continued use of AI Box after changes means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably; if unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts in Nigeria.
